Nominations are now being accepted for TIACA’s Hall of Fame, which recognises air cargo champions who have made a huge difference to the aviation industry.
The 2018 celebrations will take place at the Association’s forthcoming Air Cargo Forum, which this year is located in Toronto, Canada and runs from 16th to 18th October.
“It is important to recognise and celebrate airfreight leaders, past and present, who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of our industry,” said Vladimir Zubkov, Secretary General, TIACA.
“We urge our members, as well as organizations and the press to put forward deserving individuals for consideration before the deadline, July 31st.”
Last year, Desmond Vertannes, an acknowledged air cargo leader known for initiating change and innovating, as well as helping found the Global Air Cargo Advisory Group (GACAG), was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2017 Executive Summit in Miami.
Other past winners of the annual event, which has been running since 1997, also include James ‘Jim’ Jackson, a driving force behind the standardization of Aircraft Unit Load Devices (ULD), and Sir Peter Masefield, the former Managing Director of British European Airways and Chairman of the British Airports Authority and London Transport.
The Hall of Fame winners are selected by TIACA’s Chairman’s Council, which includes all past chairman and the current chairman of the Association.
