Budding air cargo leaders take part in TIACA learning program

Young people from six logistics and transport companies have completed TIACA’s 2018 Air Cargo Supply Chain Internship Program in Toronto, Canada.

The visit, which was organised in partnership with Air Canada Cargo, saw the group of nine professionals given tours of cargo operations at Toronto Pearson Airport for a chance to learn and network.

Derek Palmer, Director, Cargo Hub Operations and Customer Service, Air Canada Cargo, said, “We had the privilege of hosting the 2018 TIACA internship program in Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). What a great opportunity to meet young leaders from the industry and show off our operations and our YYZ global cargo hub.”

Among sites visited were the AC operational center, a warehouse owned by Expeditors, and the Air Canada Cargo hub in Toronto.

Yinghui Gao, who is Capacity Optimization Manager for AC Cargo YUL, said, “What a great opportunity to further understand the air cargo’s supply chain and network with young professionals in the same industry.”

TIACA runs an Air Cargo Supply Chain Internship Program every year, aimed at budding airfreight professionals to help them collaborate as well as foster new working relationships to aid their career development.
