Last week, we had about 90 speakers, which is more than usually we have at any Air Cargo Forum. I viewed this as a sign of an increasing interest of our members and even non-members to sharing their knowledge, views, and achievements and to be on the agenda with a presentation or remarks during a panel.
The solid interests of the participants were demonstrated by the full conference rooms and sometimes even an overflow of people standing by the walls. The explanation is in the quality of the presenters and a vivid format which allows for interaction between the panelists and the audience.
The range of subjects was very wide: the latest regulatory challenges, collaboration with the legislators, the booming market of distribution warehouses in the context of e-commerce, the power of Blockchain, which was so much in demand that it required two sessions and several others which managed to keep the attention of the participants from the first minute until the last one.
We devoted time to the examination of the new subject which appeared as the result of the TIACA Board’s initiative “air cargo value proposition”. It was developed to offer the members even greater value in terms of information, networking and assistance in the introduction of new technologies.
Many of the exhibitors had shown optimism and expressed satisfaction. Yes, the visits were coming by waves, but when the waves were hitting the exhibition floor it would immediately become cheerful and even noisy. The dominating views about the overall event are very positive and will help us steer the ACF 2020 in Miami in the right direction.
It would be useful to mention that the ACF platform was used by many for bilateral meetings: more than 1200 within the CargoLinX which included participants and the exhibitors. The Global Air Cargo Advisory Group (GACAG) used the opportunity of all members being in one place to set up priorities for the next year. Two MoUs with the Latin American associations have been signed and talks already started on the creation of a Latin American Pavilion in 2020 in Miami.
Talking about Miami and the next ACF, and major announcement was made about the new partnership between TIACA and Messe München which was corroborated by signing of an MoU right on the TIACA stand. The arrangement will combine the strengths of TIACA in organizing the conferences and networking with the unsurpassed experience of Messe München in setting up trade shows.
