Jan Krems
2025 Hall of Fame Recipient
Jan Krems is President, United Cargo for United Airlines, the world’s leading airline. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of United Cargo’s operations, customer service, sales and marketing activity, revenue management, product quality, and technology solutions. Prior to this position, Krems was Vice President Americas for Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo, where he was responsible for the company’s operations, customer service and sales in North America, South America, Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean.
Global Regional/Impact
Krems joined United after a 27-year career at KLM Cargo. While with KLM, he served in a number of leadership positions including Vice President Asia and Vice President Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As the company’s Vice President Worldwide Customer Service during and after the merger with Air France Cargo, he was responsible for the integration of all Air France and KLM cargo offices, aligning processes, cultures, IT systems, and people on a global scale.

Recognized as being a customer centric leader, Jan has introduced many innovative products and solutions. The culmination of this innovative approach to customer relationships has resulted in United Cargo becoming the biggest US combination carrier , eclipsing the volumes of DL and AA combined.
Inspirational Leadership
Jan joined UA cargo he implemneted a program focused on giving back to the community. Every Spetember the entire UA Cargo workforce engages in charity or community based support programs. Its all about giving back to society.
Regulatory/Community Impact
Jan has been influencial in many forums, from Airline based association IATA, through its Cargo Committee to the US based Air Forwarders Association and CNS. Jan contributes his time, his ideas and his support to driving industry innovation and development.
