After navy service, John Emery, Jr. joined Emery Air Freight, the company his father founded, as a pick-up truck driver. He then served as a street salesman, New York sales manager, district manager, regional manager, vice president of sales and executive vice president. He led Emery Airfreight to revenues of $1.2 billion dollars at his retirement. Emery operated 180 offices with 10,000 employees from its modest beginnings as the first certificated American forwarder. His personal experiences, leadership, and vision remain alive in the highly successful integrated logistics company – Emery Worldwide. Mr. Emery passed away on the 19th of April, 2007.
