Aeroclass Offers Aviation Businesses a One-Stop-Shop Solution for Training and Upskilling

August 8, 2022

  • The online aviation learning platform Aeroclass has launched the first ever subscription model in aviation training to become the “MasterClass of aviation education”.
  • The company seeks to help enterprises establish a true learning culture, making onboarding and retention easier via monthly packages that include video courses, training consultancy, reporting tools and certificates for learners.
  • Aeroclass is tackling issues of retention and career development in a traditionally conservative sector that is ripe for disruption, where 40% of the jobs are predicted to undergo significant change by 2030.

This August, Aeroclass is launching the first-ever subscription model for learning and training in the aviation sector. The new approach will enable aviation companies – from airlines to MROs – to unlock best-in-class online training resources to their staff and managers. Aiming to become the “MasterClass of aviation training”, the company seeks to upskill entire departments and help consolidate learning and development activities in a simple, user-friendly and scalable format.

With the advent of platforms like MasterClass and Skillshare, the way companies and individuals approach learning and training has changed. However, training provision in the aviation sector is lagging behind, with much of the training materials currently available being expensive, outdated, and delivered via complicated, unintuitive platforms. At the same time, the need for effective training has never been greater. Aviation continues to undergo significant transformation, with 40% of jobs in the sector predicted to undergo changes by 2030, according to KPMG.

This need to reskill is coupled with significant staff shortages, especially as companies rapidly scale up after two years of COVID-19 lockdowns. According to Boeing’s Pilot and Technician Outlook 2021-2040, the industry will need to recruit and train an additional 612,000 pilots, 626,000 technicians and 886,000 cabin crew members in the coming two decades. In summary, aviation companies will have to retrain a significant proportion of their staff and provide them with meaningful new career pathways, while simultaneously onboarding and upskilling millions of new employees. But currently, they lack user-friendly, affordable and high-quality training platforms to do this at scale.

Aeroclass’ subscription model solves this problem by offering a flexible yet simple platform. It is designed to create value for enterprises as they scale and transform. It also empowers learners to take control of their professional development. Paying per user, companies can give their staff access to the high-quality content Aeroclass curates. Moreover, the platform makes it easy to learn from the best instructors coming from a cross-section of industry-specific disciplines. The growing roster of lecturers includes Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society Dr. Donal Hanley, Founder and Managing Director of Change Horizon Céline Hourcade, AI evangelist Dr. Ricardo Pilon, and many other renowned practitioners and academics.

Aeroclass’ Enterprise plan also adds tailored consultancy to the mix. Companies receive support in creating clearly defined learning pathways for their team members. These could be new hires, or existing employees looking to add new competencies or branch out to other parts of the aviation sector. The Enterprise plan also includes access to a wide range of advanced features such as in-depth statistics and reports. This plan also helps streamline newcomer onboarding and adds tangible value to the motivational package presented to employees

Video courses and other types of learning provided by the employer have been shown to increase new employee attraction by 83% and employee retention by 86%, according to TalentLMS and SHRM research. And the new subscription model provides the simplest and most effective way yet for companies to curate the learning set up they need and embed a true learning culture in their company.

Lukas Raščiauskas, CEO at Aeroclass, said: “Subscription is a fundamental piece of the puzzle when it comes to fulfilling our mission of enabling and encouraging a learning culture in aviation companies. We want to empower companies to hit their KPIs and effectively upskill their employees while democratizing access to training for individuals. We believe this new subscription model will facilitate this”

Birutė Bartkuvienė, the Head of Sales at Aeroclass, sees the company’s new and flexible subscription model as a way to make it easier for companies to stay competitive on the job market:

“In addition to unlocking learning opportunities for employees, we advise companies on developing their learning culture, onboarding and upskilling. All of these components are necessary to improve employee engagement and retention in an industry that will see an increased need for skilled staff in the coming years.”
