Hactl Welcomes Budget Speech’s Support for Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Hong Kong International Airport

February 22, 2023

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) welcomes the Financial Secretary’s support for continuously enhancing the capacity and facilities of Hong Kong International Airport and developing the airport’s human capital, as stated in his Budget Speech.

Hactl Chief Executive Wilson Kwong said, “Hong Kong’s air cargo industry has proven to be extremely resilient, even during the most difficult times of the pandemic. We are excited about the sector’s prospects in 2023 as Hong Kong returns to normalcy and regains its leading position in the international world of business and commerce. The fact that the Government and Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) are assessing ways to provide medium- to long-term solutions for manpower shortages in the aviation industry will further help our sector take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.

“On-going investments by the Government and AAHK in Hong Kong International Airport’s capacity and facilities will also provide a strong foundation for Hactl as we continue to push ahead with our digitalisation roadmap.”
