Johannes Einarsson

1997 Hall of Fame Recipient

Johannes Einarsson was born in Reykjavik, Iceland. In 1962, Einarsson took on the duties and responsibilities of technical manager at Loftleidir Icelandic and from there to Director of Corporate Planning and to Senior Director of Operations and Maintenance. During the mid-1970’s, he served as Corporate Secretary and as a Member of the Board of Directors at International Air Bahamas. At the same time, he served as vice chairman and as a Member of the Board of Directors’ Executive Committee at Cargolux Airlines. As Senior Vice President of Corporate Planning, he was instrumental in aircraft acquisitions and assisted in the development of the B-747-700 freighter.
