Coyne Airways – Trustee Member
Coyne Airways has pioneered scheduled cargo routes to some of the world’s most difficult to reach destinations. Since its establishment in 1994, Coyne Airways has offered freighter services around the Caucasus, Central Asia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, all destinations it still serves today. In 2012, Coyne Airways spread its wings to Africa, working in conjunction with regional partners. Coyne Airways also offers charter and part-charter services to destinations where it can add value for customers.
Coyne Airways believes that air cargo can help transform economies and lives, and has been a great supporter of TIACA and its initiatives. In 1996, Coyne Airways became a TIACA trustee and Larry Coyne, our CEO, has acted in a variety of roles since then. He chaired the Industry Affairs Committee and, after 2 years as Vice Chairman, became Chairman in 2001. Soon after he took over, TIACA got drawn into the complex security issues that followed 9/11. Larry is firmly committed to making trade easier and relaxing the rules that inhibit the growth of the air cargo industry. As Chairman of TIACA, he took his message to ICAO and the OECD, and also helped TIACA to develop a close relationship with the WTO, which resulted in the two organizations signing a co-operation agreement. Larry worked very closely with John Raven who became TIACA’s representative in Brussels, as John lobbied successfully for major changes to customs protocols which permitted the growth of the express industry and simplified cross-border trading. As a member of the Chairman’s Council, Larry continues to provide support to the TIACA team wherever he is able.
