Ostend, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 – On Monday, November 3rd, Ostend-Bruges Airport and TUI fly have celebrated the launch of the first winter flight to Hurghada. Until now, the popular Egyptian holiday destination was only accessible from Oostende between April and October, but from now on, travelers can fly directly to the Red Sea year-round.

Starting this winter season, TUI fly will offer a direct flight every Monday from November to March. During the summer season – from April to the end of October – the Saturday flight will remain in place. This new winter route increases capacity by 22% during the winter months, partly due to additional flights to Alicante and Málaga. This further strengthens the partnership between Ostend-Bruges Airport and TUI, while expanding their year-round destination offering. It marks a clear evolution where the airport is increasingly providing not just seasonal, but year-round destinations.

“With temperatures staying above 20°C year-round, Hurghada is the ideal destination for those who want to enjoy sun, sea, and relaxation even in winter,” says Nathan De Valck, CEO of Ostend-Bruges Airport. “We are especially pleased that, alongside popular Spanish destinations such as Málaga, Alicante, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria, we can now also offer Egypt during the winter season.”

TUI also emphasizes the importance of this expansion: “Egypt as a holiday destination has been a rising star within the TUI offering for some time. This is largely due to the excellent hotels offering a perfect price-quality ratio,” says Gunther Hofman, Managing Director of TUI fly Belgium & the Netherlands. “We are thrilled to be able to send our loyal travelers from West and East Flanders to Hurghada in winter, departing from Ostend-Bruges Airport.”
