TIACA Announces Dr. Ajay Virmani as Recipient of the 2026 Hall of Fame Award

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) is proud to announce that Dr. Ajay Virmani, Founder and Executive Chairman of Cargojet, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 TIACA Hall of Fame Award.

The TIACA Hall of Fame Award recognizes individuals whose vision, leadership, and contributions have significantly shaped the global air cargo industry.

Dr. Virmani is widely recognized as a visionary leader within Canada’s air cargo sector and the global logistics industry. After immigrating to Canada, he began his career in the transportation and logistics industry through his family’s trucking business, then expanded into aviation and air cargo. Through entrepreneurship, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to customer excellence, he went on to found Cargojet in 2002 and build the company into Canada’s leading overnight air cargo airline and a growing global carrier.

Under Dr. Virmani’s leadership, Cargojet established a robust overnight domestic network that reaches communities and businesses across Canada while continuing to expand beyond Canada’s borders into international markets. Today, Cargojet is recognized for its reliability, customer service, and industry-leading on-time performance.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Virmani has become known for his long-term strategic thinking, strong customer relationships, disciplined operational leadership, and ability to identify emerging trends within global supply chain and air freight markets. His leadership has helped transform Cargojet into a globally recognized air cargo network serving major international customers and markets.

Dr. Virmani’s achievements have been recognized nationally and internationally, including his appointment to the Order of Canada in 2024 and his induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2021.

The award will be formally presented during TIACA’s 2026 Hall of Fame celebration which will be held during the TIACA Executive Summit June 1-3 in Warsaw.
