Topic: Transportation Security requirements of the US Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program.
Description: The course provides training on the Transportation Security requirements of the CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria (MSC 5-8). Participants will learn to better understand the requirements of each MSC; how to identify and address deviations from associated standards; and the evidence needed to efficiently demonstrate compliance with transportation security criteria.
The course will cover the following:
- Conveyance and Instruments of International Traffic Security: procedures for inspecting conveyances, identifying tampering, best practices for securing containers, monitoring conveyances, and incident reporting.
- Seal Security: CTPAT requirements of high-security seals, procedures for applying and verifying seals, record-keeping practices, and tools for investigating broken or tampered seals.
- Procedural Security: cargo handling procedures, proper documentation, challenging unauthorized persons, and other vital procedures pertaining to reporting incidents and notification to appropriate law enforcement.
- Agricultural Security: requirements for preventing pests, compliance with agricultural regulations, and training employees on agricultural risks and best practices.
